Symptom:
Loud sqealing noise at all speeds, after the pads get wet on a rainy day.
No problem on dry days.

Girlfriend's car, front wheel drive thing, sorta fun, nothing too special.
zoom zoom and all that crap.

Jeezumcrow, this wasn't done, or supposed to post...
anyway, the noise stops if you touch the brakes or corner either direction.
Thirty second visual inspection shows good rotors and plenty o'pad.
I'm thinking a quick disassembly, cleaning and brake grease on the right
spots should probably address this. But if any of y'all have any points I
should also check or alternate theories, I'm all ears, er, eyes...
The only other thing I can think would be wheel bearings but the wet weather
connection doesn't really add up for bearings maybe.
Maybe they are crappy Chinese aftermarket pads on there?
TIA

Is it 4 wheel disk? The fronts squeaking? Maybe the rubber tube is wiping
on the rotor when it is relaxed and the caliper and hose move away from each
other when the brakes are applied.
I'd suggest a fifth of rum or gin, turn the radio up and spend your last few
moments having fun before it gives away completely. <bgf>
There is an audible wear indicator, you probably knew about that already,
but they only make their noise when you apply the brakes.
My downstairs nieghbor, a teacher no less, experienced one of the braided
sink faucet water (cold) lines blowing out. She didn't have sense enough to
look underneath and see if her water cutoffs would stop the torrent. Called
an emergency plumber-big bucks.
Oh wait! I'll bet the car has power assisted brakes and the noise might be
coming from under the hood.

Does it get better or worse when you apply the brakes? How many miles
on the car? How many miles on the brakes? Have you done anything to
address it yet?
