1) Assuming the spot on the pipe is hot enough, how much air pressure should
be needed to pop a dent? I'm thinking the lower the better in terms of
safety.

2) I do not have proper torches. Do you think a propane torch would do the
trick? I'm thinking it would eventually get the thing hot enough, but since
it wouldn't happen (as) quickly the heat may not stay (as) local to the dent
and this could cause some problems.

TIA

I have done my yz250 pipe several times including a dent on the thick
seam and
have never needed more than 30psi, usally 20-25psi works good for me.
I keep a hand on the air valve to let pressure off quickly, in case
the red spot grows too fast.
I use oxy-act torches. dont know if propane would do it, at least try
a mapp bottle with a
turbo tip.

This is on your 2 stroke right?  Found a neat trick for 4 stroke head
pipes but I'm sure you have the 2 stroke??

the dent

While plenty of folks do this at home, the combination of air, fuel
(pipe spooge) and heat would keep me from trying it. (I have used
nitrogen and an oxy/acy rig with success) I've read that adding water to
the pipe and freezing it works well although some report of splitting
the pipe.
