The front is supposed to be a rebadged MT18HD (Jim, you shipped me one
and then they discontinued 'em, but they're back!).
The rear looks pretty good.

Damn- no love for the DS tires.
I hear they are pretty good, but a bit slick on smooth rock.
Very tempted to try a DOT trials tire.

Hmmm. Not sure that is a good idea but maybe worth
a try. A big part of the reason real trials tires work so well
is that the rubber is real soft and you can run real low
pressures. A DOT trials tire won't have either.
If you try it though, let us know how it works.
Go fast. Take chances.

I have seen a review or two from some guys with also-large bikes,
which is the only reason I'm even considering it.
If I was still in CT there was enough rock that I'd def. try it, here
in CNY there is not much, so I'm leaning towards the XCMH, when I save
enough to actually buy something.
