Well, Tracy and I loaded the bikes and headed to SoCal for
Thanksgiving with Family.  Lucky for us, SloCalSpode (AKA Jeff
Wallace) and Betsy decided to come out and ride with us.  Tracy and I
made our way over to Jeff's house Saturday morning.  We didn't waste
much time before heading out.  We ended up going to Gorman and rode
mainly WST trails.  We were treated to a beautiful day.  The sun was
out and the air was cool and if it had rained it would have been
surreal.  Trail conditions were dry, slick and dusty.  Now, we didn't
ride fast or far on Saturday, but Tracy and Betsy sure had big smiles
at the end of the ride and that made my ride.  Tracy had an OTE and
tumbled way down a hill.  No injuries.  She was doing pretty well
considering that she has not ridden in over 1 year.  That and I need
to work on the Pampera jetting a little.  The stock carb has been
replaced with a Kehin.  I need a richer pilot jet and to richen the
needle as it has less low-end than it did with the old carb.

This was my first ride with the new 49 tooth rear sprocket, down from
the 50.  I was happy with what it did top my power.  It smoothed the
hit and allowed me to use the low-end like my Y2K bike.  I am going to
try another needle to see how smooth the power can get.

The trails we rode reminded me mostly of Clear Creek with bits of
Stonyford and Hollister thrown in for good measure.  The only thing
that really challenged Tracy was the one loose up-hill rocky section.
It was not steep at all, but you needed some momentum to get through
these loose rocks smoothly.  I would love to hit Gorman during the
work week after a rain.

Thanks again Jeff and Betsy!

Sounds like another fine Thanksgiving ride, just as it should be. OF
