I dissected my first powervalve yesterday. All I can say is, "Ick."
Now I know why mechanics have started wearing surgical gloves these
days.

I just dived into my first forks. doint an oil change and trying a
different shim stack configuration. They don't much in the way of the
"ick" factor, but I did manage to get oil all over me before I got the
left leg done. Right one scheduled for tonight. :)
pst - I don't think hard core dirt bikers are allowed to say "ick"...

It's only icky when you have been running rich. I have only cleaned
the PV on 2000 EC300 once. It required very little effort.

JayC uses this brand of 2-stroke oil ONLY in all his bikes:

Super lubricating properties, virtually no thermo-nuclear breakdown,
and always on-hand.
Also, it's great for the environment, if'n yer into that stuff.
