OK, my turn to get mushy.
Life with Paula has been everything I've dreamed a relationship should
be. Kind, caring, considerate.... We take the good with the bad.
Differences are resolved with a win-win attitude. In virtually every
category, our relationship is everything that my previous marriage
wasn't. It's as if I knew exactly what I wanted and it was delivered
in Paula. We feel like we've known each other since long before we
first met 2 years ago. Soul-mate may sound corny, but is the best
description I can come up with (almost as good as "peas and
carrots" :-)
With all of the sleep deprived late nights we've spent together over
the past 4 months working late, side by side, on the house or bikes,
each of us have gotten extremely tired and cranky, yet there's never
been a major blow-up. This alone convinced me that this is the woman
I want to spend the rest of my life with. The fact that we share so
many common interests and priorities in life is a real bonus.
<sigh>

Save your post. If you decide to write your own vows (generally not a
good idea, especially if a recording is made), it would be hard to
improve on it.
A friend who used to write a lot of technical papers included the phrase
"thus it may be seen" in his vows. The marriage ended after 20 years.
