Dean, congrats!
For the record, I did not run over the 000 bike!
I ended up with 12 out of 33 starters in Never Ever, overall. Not
bad, I'll take it. Ended up skipping my second 2 stroke open moto
after the lower end of my engine developed a nasty noise. I guess it
wasn't up to the power of the built new top end I put in to replace
the beyond-beat garbage that was in there when I got it. Wanted to
save the engine for Keepin it Real, and that worked, so I can't
complain. Now I've gotta split the cases and figure out how this
crankcase thing works...
One thing I'm a touch annoyed about is my lack of commitment out
there. I went out there with the attitude that I did not want to get
hurt and end my road racing season early, so I was just out to have
fun. Oddly enough I could care less about getting hurt road racing,
but that’s “my thing”, I don’t want to end that season early doing
something else. In retrospect, I could have ridden faster and harder
if I wasn’t being a pansy. Not like it would have changed anything, I
might have ended 9 or 10, still def. not looking top 3, but I don’t
like feeling like I didn’t give it my all.
Also figured out why I NEVER look back road racing. One race I was
out there bangin along, nobody in sight. Last lap, couldn’t even see
the bike in front of me, bikes behind me were WAY behind me. I know,
because I looked going into the last straight. So… decided to go
fairly easy (3rd gear instead of 4th or 5th) through the muddy whoops
at the bottom of the start finish hill. Turns out there was a bike
behind me, must have been in my blind spot when I looked. He passed
me IN THE AIR, AT THE CHECKERED by no more than a wheel. It was an
awesome pass, and the guy was a buddy of mine I was pitted with, so I
really can’t complain… I just hope someone got it on camera. Oh, and
it’ll also learn me to let up early. Words of wisdom one of my road
racing buddies gave me that I should have brought to stimilon with
me: “This is motorcycle racing, not a knitting competition. Don’t
you EVER back down.” Saturday I got a key demonstration as to why.
I’m just glad it happened here and not @ Loudon.

Thanks, man. I'd like to thank attrition for all its help this season.
I'm amazed at how well some C class riders can ride. Not that they
were sandbaggers. I'm sure they usually suck more. LOL

Good thing he had the safety flag on his hat.

Absolutely. Good work.

Ah yes, a true competitior.

I almost got a guy on that final straight. He passed me about halfway
through the last lap but didn't run away from me. He had maybe five or
ten bike lengths on me going into that final downhill right. I went to
the inside and almost got him on power down the rutted straight to the
finish jump. Maybe I should have followed him on the outside.
Congrats on your finish in the top half.

Man, I just looked at the video from the weekend which I hope to put
up later this week, and I am frekin' real slow... It's almost
embarassing man;) The Mouse is considering keeping the halo on her
helmet for a while but insists the angel wings slowed her down;) My
hip is pretty bad right now, I am barely able to walk but I did have a
great time and finished all of my races which is what my goal was. 6
motos at Southwick, yeahaw...
I didn't stop to get my results that night but Davo says they will be
up by the end of the week after he has some recovery time;) I
seriously wonder if I beat anybody this weekend, we'll see. For those
of you who raced to "never ever" class here's a confidence buster. The
kid who took 4th place is a friend of ours from our hometrack, He just
started riding dirtbikes 6 weeks ago, seriously, only 6 weeks. Young
and strong though, great kid too.
Can't wait for next year, The Mouse Crew rocks Stimilon 09!
Rowdy Mouse Racing, beware the red and green speedbump!

Glad you had a good time! I liked the halo on The Mouse's helmet.
Mouse ears would have been cooler ;) It was cool seeing you guys
having fun with that stuff. It's too bad I didn't find a road
helmet. Maybe next year ;)
