My clymer's manual for that bike does not say anything about what the
compression should be. If this is something that started happening all
of a sudden I would check a few other things first.
1. oil level, it's easy to over fill that bike. Check the oil when the
engine is warm and right after you turn it off. Do not fill it if it
has been sitting for more than a few minutes.
2. check for a plugged crankcase breather hose.
3. black smoke or blue smoke? Blue is oil, black is fuel, possible the
main jet came off in the carb?
If it has allot of hard miles on it you may need a rebuild but start
with the easy stuff, you might get lucky.
