Ain't that a great feeling? :-)
what tires you're using? Dirt knobbies, dual sports tires, which?

And that's the correct answer. Good on ya mate.
Go fast. Take chances.

Dirt knobbies. Dunlop 756 front and Pirelli MT 16 rear. Both at the
end of their useful life cycle. One of the nice things about the XR is
that there's not a lot of extra HP wasted on wheelspin. It just seems
to hook up everywhere.

In ready-to-ride trim, including a full tank of fuel, the front fender
bag w/tire tools, skidplate, barkbusters, fork brace, etc. it weighs
276 pounds. Honda claims 231 dry. It feels lighter than it is, and is
easy to ride. It's more fun than it should be.
> An XR250 sounds perfect to me.
It's pretty close to a perfect compromise for my current set of wants/
needs, but it certainly isn't the perfect bike for the particular
conditions I rode in Sunday. The bike that would have been wouldn't
have worked for my last 5 or 6 rides though. Gotta go with the numbers
and the bike that gets me out more often. Right now, the XR is it.

I try not to flaunt my glee too often, but I will admit to a certain
bit of pride when passing a well-farkled high-dollar euro bike on the
trail. :)
