Here are my opininions.

#1. The 125cc four stroke motorcycles will all be way too small
demensionally for you. You can raise the handle bars, mounting point,
get taller bars and get taller seat foam to help with this. Then you
might feel less cramped. I'm 5'6" and feel very cramped on a stock
TTR125L.

#2 You would be much better off picking up a used CRF230, TTR230 or
even a XR250 with your budget. All are good bikes for what you want
to do. Yes they all have more power, but they will be much more
comfortable in the long run.

#3 Dont forget, you need a good helmet, motorcycle boots and some
gloves.

You may be old, but you don't have to torture your back to ride a
125cc four stroke dirt bike.

****Thanks, Mike, for your resp. here's a measurement comparison of
the Suzuki DR-Z125L and the Suzuki XR250 you mentioned in #2 of your
response.

Of course, we know the engine is twice the displacement but since
power is not an issue here, we'll table that. And as I've also
stated, I do not want a used bike.

The first figure below is for the 125L, the second for the XR250.

Seat Height = 32" / 35"
Ground Clearance = 11.4" / 11.8"
Front tire = 19" / 21"
Rear Tire = 16" / 18"

So for ALMOST TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS more I get less than the width of
my hand greater seat height, less than a half-inch more ground
clearance, a 2" larger front and a 2" larger rear tire. Thise are
some pretty spendy inches.

And as I have stated repeatedly through this thread, I AM WILLING TO
MAKE THE SACRIFICES of a slightly smaller bike and those sacrifices
are on me, no one else. I hope you understand. Thanks again for your
opinion.

Well, which ever bike you purchase, I hope it brings you joy. I still
suggest you raise the handlebars and seat foam to accomidate you size
to an extent.

I hope you realize that those new bikes have short warrantys.

Mike, I'm in deep shock. What happened to the GOOD OLE DAYS when this
country and even those across the sea were known to stand behind their
products for some time? Nevermind, I know, it's those %$#$# Green
Party members and followers of Ralph Nader.
