Well, obviously a woods crasher wrote that. We call those guys
"goons"... ;)

spode is famous for their pottery
spodes play in the mud
spodefest is where muddy folks get together
and fester about how slow they ride
or so i've been told

Achievement, you can do anything you
set your mind to when you have vision,
determination, and an endless supply
of expendable labor.

And another named "Spodely"

Oh, they are. If you'd told me 11 years ago that I would soon be
meeting a bunch of people through the internet, traveling across the
country to meet and ride with them, and would very soon call many of
them my best friends, I'd have logically told you that you were out
of your friggin' mind.
In the last 10 years my family has traveled to Utah, California, Idaho
(like, 9 times), and Arkansas. We've met, camped and ridden with
people from all over the US, Brazil, Austria, Germany. We are proud
Spodes. Mind you, not all spodes actually ride poorly (many are
actually well above average), but some do have limited skills on the
trails. The general attitude seems to be "So what?" Around the
campfires they seem to have just as much fun as anyone. Bench racing
by a fire with a beer in one hand and dinner balanced in your lap on a
paper plate is the great equalizer.

And you fest with the best, DJ.
If I haven't said it enough before, thanks for all of the great times.

Yep

Naw, the term "spode" as been around for years, and way outdates the
Spodefests. The similarity hasn't gone unused, though, with some of
the 'fests being referred to as "Spudfest" to set it apart from other
'fests happening in other locations (Georgia, Colorado, Texas, Utah).
But David's little get togethers in Idaho have pretty much become THE
Spodefest.
Deservedly so.
You should consider a spodefest near you.

When I tell someone, that an Internet buddy, who never met me in
person, invited me to live at his house, ride his YZ400F and drive
his truck towing all his bikes from California to Idaho (getting
pulled over for speeding, of course), camped with me in a tent,
wachted me smack his YZ head on into an oncomming spode the first
day, and still not dumped me out there but drove me back to CA
after a week of fun , stopping over at the Reno Air race, I do
enjoy the silence of dropped jaws.
I think, that first IDSF was my best vacation ever, so far.
Hearing that I still do get invited and continue to break things,
like Jim's GG300 or Nigel's beautiful RV, people do think that not
only I must be out of my friggin' mind.
(after verifying that they really heard me say loaner RV :])
