sometimes this happen to me when I drain the carb, the bown gets empty
and don't ask me how, the needle stick to the bore. If I were you, I'd
start fitting a fuel filter and making sure there isn't dirt (sand
grains, for instance) on the fuel tank. Also, as unlikely this can be,
make sure that little bar that holds the float in place isn't bent...

Float bar is ok, just checked it when I cleaned the carb.
Good thinking on the filter, will add a fuel filter and see if the
problem stops. This bike did have the old gas cap which leaked a
little causing mud and sand to stick all around the cap. I've
replaced the cap with an updated version, but there could be some sand
in the tank.
