Okay, I'm all set. Two wraps of electrical tape solved the bar
clamp looseness, and I managed to use the aforementioned aluminum fork
clamp by removing the front caliper and sliding the clamp down between
the caliper mounting bolts. The fork leg has a slightly larger
diameter in that area, so the homemade clamp fits very well there.

I then cut my teflon cable guide ring and inserted the Trail Tech
cable alongside the front brake hose and routed it up near the master
cylinder before stringing it beneath the crossbar pad and over to the
clutch side. As far as I can tell, there should be no binding and the
computer works great with the bike on the stand. :-)
