You have been a loyal customer. That no longer matters. Something I have
done successfully with a provider to whom I have been exceptionally loyal,
and who had recently screwed me, was this... I added up all the dollars I
have spent with them over 20-plus years and wrote a letter in a business
voice which promised my objective was to engage in a passionate information
dissemination process that I estimated as a businessman would probably cost
them more than they have made from me over the course of my life. It can
work. Carrots and sticks... you need both, but be subtle... avoid the
direct threat. Good luck.

Wrong, at least as far as the UK goes. There's the Sale of Goods Act,
which takes prcedence and has things like "reasonable" and "fitness
for purpose" to consider.
I don't know whether there's a comparable US consumer law.
That said, yammering after many years is a bit silly.
