I have seen temperature sensitive strips used on tanks of compressed liquid
gas so that you can tell the level of the liquid inside the tank.. (the
tanks are stainless steel not plastic so temp transfer is better) I wonder
if you put a temp strip on your fuel tank you could tell the fuel level?
there are ones on propane gas grill tanks as well
