So I am watching motogp and the corner style is waaaaaay different than
MX.. The guys are leaning way below the angle of the bike and hanging
the knee way out to the side. Now I know in MX we use the inside foot
out by the front axle to add weight to the front of the bike, but I am
not quite understanding the knee out to the side.
My initial feelings are they are somehow moving all of that weight out
from the cog of the bike, or they are using it to "mark" the ground if
they are leaning out too far. No way I would think they would drag it
and let it get ripped backwards to keep the bike from spilling..
So, what am I missing? Thanks...

Nutshell version: they're trying to keep the bike as close to vertical to
maximize the tire contact patch.

And yes, they drag their knees.
Do a search for knee sliders or knee pucks. Disposable items.

Yeah, but I saw a couple let the inside foot out there too. And why do
they drag their knees. Is it to mark the ground? Because if they used it
to try to stand back up or support the weight of the bike if it went
over too far, I would think they would have the leg ripped off at about
the hip;)??
