I finally got time enough to sit down and watch the Spodefest 2006 DVD
that Fred put together. Simply awesome. It brought back a host of
fond memories from my last Spodefest trip ('02), and really made me
regret not being able to go this past year.
I was happy to see that someone took a couple of pictures of the Boise
and Sawtooth Natl Forest signs. I tried to get a shot of the Sawtooth
sign myself on my way out, but missed it. I thought it was one of the
funniest things - the majestic "Sawtooth National Forest" in front of
nothing but desolate wasteland with nary a tree as far as the eye can
see. Still cracks me up. The trail shots made me wonder why I haven't
done much riding since the '02 fest, but the following shots of
dragging bikes around through and over rocks and trees and bodies made
me say, "oh yea". I also got a laugh out of the shot of someone
endoing into a creek, followed by a shot of 4 spodes pumping water out
of a bike.
I was happy to see that Baxturd and Harrel are both getting as fat as
houses (I'm up 20# myself, so its good to have some company), and
speaking of Mike, I never get tired of watching him fall into the
river. I also noticed that the guy riding an XR was the only one smart
enough to walk it across (must be the bike). Did anyone else notice
that Deeney is starting to look a lot like Billy Bob Thornton these
days?
Damn, I wish I coulda gone.
