Got the word 2 days ago that the Beaver Lodge in Atlanta is now
closed. The local mining company leased it and intends to use it as a
kitchen for it's employee's only. The Beaver Lodge was the last place
open to the public for food and beverages in the town of Atlanta and
was a must do for many a Spodefester over the years.
No word on if anyone else will step up and open anything else in
Atlanta so for now there is no food, beer or gas in the town.

Bummer.

"Bummer" is right.
All of those poor people in Atlanta have to drink at home now?
Good thing I've got Theresa.

The Lodge was quite busy when we were there... It's a nice place.

It's a retired man dream: living in a very quiet and peaceful town,
owning a small bar, just because stop working is too boring... I am
sure that one can make a decent living there running a place like
this.

indeed. If there's no gas for sale anymore, a ride from Baum camp
ground to Atlanta and back could only be made on bikes that have long
range, or, if someone is willing to carry gas cans...

you're very kind <g>

but you know, you could fly here and I'd get you a DR400 with a huge
tank that have enough range to explore all the trails around suape
seaport. Also, there's a gas station at gaibu beach and you will not
need to carry extra gas...
