Suggestions for painful boots (SG10s) JayC 08-05-2008

I have a pair of Gaerne SG10s that are killing me. The fit great
around my foot, but the leather across my ankle puckers in and stabs
the top of my foot when I bend my ankle, and it hurts like a bastard
after a while. I generally ride on the balls of my feet (rocky woods
and all), so this is a chronic affliction. Any suggestions?
