Here are a couple of videos that I took yesterday. The Mouse was
really hanging it out but I think there are some setup problems with
the front end. In the first video you can see how she is fighting the
turns. Although I have noticed it for a few days now that she is
getting faster I have not really had it on tape. In this video the
corner I notice it the most on is between 1:52 and 2 minutes into the
video. We are also aware that there are some rider technique problems
too but right now I want to address the setup. NOTE: These videos are
huge, they may take up to a minute to load but be patient please, we
are doing the best we can.

Here is the "Quicktime" version but it does not show elapsed time in
my player:

In the next video you can see the same set of corners washing out
between 36 and 44 seconds into the video. I am doing some reading and
thinking of dropping the tri-clamp down about a half inch and
softening the dampening in the front end, two clicks. You can also see
how the bike gets away from her sometimes, at about 2:43, I am sure
this is more technique than setup in that event.

And the "Quicktime" version, again, no elapsed time.

In a later video you can clearly see the front end wash out but The
Mouse has asked me to not post that vid as it caught her first real
hard crash with the Kawi.. She is in a good amount of pain this
morning, but rode after the crash and nothing is broken. I am sure
glad we put her in the Leatt the other day, it sure did it's job.
I am reading the manuals and I am thinking of dropping the front end
down about a half inch as suggested by my reading. I may also soften
the dampening two clicks too. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I
would love to just hand the bike to Mike from Factory Connection, but
right now we just can't do that so I have to take this on myself.

If I had the slightest clue about setup, I'd pitch in, but I haven't
even tried to set up my XR650L yet, after owning it for 6 years so far.

Wow, nice to here from you again. I have been wondering
what you and the family have been up to lately.
Any chance we could talk you folks into a desert trip
sometime this winter?
Stop on by the socaltrailriders group and say hi.
