After a year and a half of top end disassembly the 175 will go
together this next week. I just got my cylinder back from the chop
shop and a new Wiseco piston 2 mm larger to fit. Yesterday I ordered
the base gasket and head gasket and will have it back on the trail by
Friday. I am indeed looking forward to riding again. The 175 is one of
the most reliable bikes I have ever owned. I bought it used but have
about three thousand miles riding on it. I guess it just harkens back
to old airhead technology and the simplicity of shoe brakes. Nothing
beats the ride of a modern bike but I used to ride the old blue
warrior about a hundred and fifty miles a week to stay in shape. It
should be running just in time for the West Coast Spode Fest Lite here
in Bishop. Bring your modern bike and I will catch up to you at each
intersection. OF
