Anyone know if the cops check registrations at Thomaston Dam?

I have heard they do. But it's probably D.E.P... I have not ridden there
though. I will check with a couple friends and let you know. If you are
out that way, there are a couple tracks you might want to try, might be
a bit closer than Rocky Hill.  Rockwood is open Thursdays on 189 in
Granville Mass, and Charlie Smith is open Wednesdays in Bloomfield CT on
SouthWoods Rd...  $20 and $15 respectively to ride for a day. Of course
our home track is Rocky Hill, let us know if you are ever planning a
trip there.

Sure will, thanks for the info and any further you can get. We're over the
Ridgefield, CT border in NY. Rocky Hill's probably another 45 minutes for us
but we'll try to carve out a day. I've heard good things about it.

I have not been there in a few years just because of this question.

I believe it is hit or miss as far as the State checking for OHV
registrations.
There is a strongly held belief that the State is out of its
jurisdiction enforcing there, since it is Federal property managed by
the Army Corps of Engineers. A high up mucky muck told a friend of
mine to tell the State to STFU if they hassle us there. But that's
easier done in cocktail chat than in real life.

I keep considering getting the plate. But I have a hard time buying a
State registration when there's zero state land to ride, all so I can
ride on Federal land. Not only that, an OHV reg might complicate a
street registration if I ever attempt that again. And thirdly, as we
all should have known anyway, it's really all about growing the grand
list for Personal Property Taxes.

In case anybody wonders how I turned into a track rider...

Thanks, I think we'll give it a shot, maybe next weekend. Maybe a $30
envelope at the ready in case the offending officer wants lunch & dinner on
us, you know, "occifer, can we pay the reg here?". :)
