An Arkansas Dirt Riders club member has been experimenting with his
video cam, and has posted (to youtube) two ten minute videos of the
first 20 minutes of the 2010 TrainRobbers Enduro course.
The trail looks wet, because it is. 10 inches of rain fell on the
property in the two days prior to this video. (Notice that the mud
holes all have good bottoms. Down here in swampland, if a rut cuts 18"
deep, you have penetrated the "crust", and there may be no bottom.
Also, being that the first 20 minutes of the race is part of the
"Super Short Course", this part of trail has a very low difficulty
factor. It's just good clean fun.
Video 1:
Video 2.
When I ride up there, I usually bypass these sections and head
straight for the more elevated singletrack, as long as it's okay with
my riding partners.
This weekend, if the winter weather advisory doesn't prove true for
the Southern Ouachita Mtns, I plan to spend one day working trail for
the Bear Creek Hare Scramble (AHSCS sanctioned, March 7), and one day
working my section of trail for the TrainRobbers Enduro (BJEC, TSCEC,
SERA, AMA, sanctioned, June 13).
(The two locations are only 40 miles apart.)
Good Riding!

Gotta' give you guys credit, that stuff takes a lot of 'nads. I get
flushed when I see you fight by a tree. With all due respect however, it
still looks much too serious for my taste. I think I am just too old for
that kind of pressure...
