Still looking for a bike to go to Alaska on, checked out the BMW's and
recently a friend told me to check out the Triumph Tiger. Anyone have
and experience with the Triumph's! I understand from reading around
that the 2007 has been completely re-done and from what I see it seems
to of been made more street friendly, smaller tank, etc?
I like the physical size of it but don't have any ideas about getting
it serviced, is it a piece of crap or a gem?
Thanks!

Hard to say, it's so new. Motorcycle Consumer News had a quick test of
it in their newest issue. It's given up on being a dual-sport, now
competing head to head with the road only "adventure tourers." They
liked it a lot, but haven't done one of their full-on tests yet.

Purely anecdotal evidence but my buddy Will got a
new one last year to replace his 96?? that had a
zillion miles on it. He rides from Cleveland area
to Columbus and back a couple times a week,
almost all weather. Never a real problem that
I heard about. The bags on the new one - Givi's -
were a pain to mount.
Go fast. Take chances.
