I am having a new set of tires put on the pitbike this morning. Should
I ask the the tirechanger to save the old tubes for me or will they
get torn up coming off? I know when I was a kid and worked at a tire
place, we could save tubes but the guy changing them really dislikes
our choice of bikes, and I am not sure how he is gonna' act. Thanks,
Scotty

BTW, we are putting the cutest little Dunlop 756 you have ever seen on
it;) And a 740 on the front, the Mouse is gonna' have to learn to stop
skidding to a stop!

Sounds like you need to find a new tire guy or get your own set of
tire spoons :-)

He shouldn't mess up the tubes coming out. Save the tubes, it never
hurts to have spares. Air them up to test for leaks and patch as
needed.

I will ask him to save the tubes, and buy a set of spoons too. I have
been waiting over three weeks for the special order tire and will just
let him put this set on for me. It's not so bad there as everyone else
there is pretty cool, just the old school guy who has the attitude.
The rest of the crew treats us fine and we have spent nearly a grand
there on equipment alone so far this season, I like to do business
where we know the crew. Just like my guitar shop. When we walk in they
practically bring us coffee;) Everyone stops to say hi;) I like
that... I am a loyalty kind of guy. I just can't seem to shake this
chip, usually things like this don't bother me too much. I am a long
haired, toothless old hippie so I am kinda' used to it, but when it
washes over on my kids, I have a little more difficulty dealing with
it.. ;)

I rarely change tubes when I replace tires - I'd guess I typically go
through 3-4 tires before I even think about getting new tubes.

Yeah, I didn't think of that until I left this morning;) I hope they
just reuse the ones in there.. So far this season a 500 dollar
motorcycle has turned into a $4500 dollar, three bikes, two sets of
gear, season pass to track, various other expences;)

I told the Mouse, "this is your summer vacation". Fortunately, she is
cool with that;) And of course, I am too.
