Volker and his lady friend Anja are coming, spending about a month in
the US. Flying in to either SLC or SEA, hitting SpodeFest, then
tripping around the West, seeing the sights.
He could probably use some stateside help/advice.
We can discuss it here or take it to the ISF forum:
http://spodefest.net/isf/
Hopefully, Volker will pop in and guide us.

I saw that on the Spodefest site. Very cool! We're international
again! It's too bad Tiago can't make it too. I think Volker and Tiago
need to meet in meatspace, they're forming quite a bond
electronically.
Anybody heard any more from Rowdy?
Should they decide on Seattle, I can probably help with any local
questions or assistance. Volker, let me know if you want/need any
help, guidance, etc. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Yeah, it's a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing him. Well, if I
survive ISF2010, we could arrange ISF2011 in Brazil. Tiago, whatcha say?

I'm going to drop him a mail - from his post on RMD "[...] Tempting indeed,
on 1.-8. August the calendar pages are empty. But as usual i'd need
someone to harass on the trip to ID. Hey Jim, i can't make it for Wudi2010
but maybe you want someone with a funny accent to share the trip to ID?

We didn't finally decide on the destination. It was just
SLC, UT to Pine, ID = 340 miles, 5:20 drive time
vs.
SEA, WA, to Pine, ID = 590 miles, 9:30 drive time.
Regarding flights, there's not too much of a difference.

Hell, yeah! If it would be my decision, we could start right tomorrow! :-)
Cheers,
Volker

Dude! I've been inviting RMD for almost ten years! Of course I'm all
in! There is plenty of space at my home and hotels here are dirt
cheap. I can arrange bikes, borrowed or rented, hell, I can even have
t-shirts specially designed for really cheap.

have fun, don't let garbage anywhere near you tent and *do not in any
circumstance* store food inside your tent, have a chat with the nice
folks at Atlanta while having a rum and coke and finish the day by
soaking at the nearby hotspring after the rides... Heavenly.
