Hi all

last weekend, after some off -road ridding with lots of water and
mud, the bike lights weren´t working, the bike works perfectly, i've
check and there is only 1,5v  coming to the light bulb ( the light
give a very small amount of light) , and also 1,5volts at the voltage
regulator plug.

Any one had the same problem?

The bike is a WR426-F from 2002

I'd guess you have an almost broken wire inside the plug, or the
connector is coming loose inside the plug. The (usually white or
black) plug holds standard electric conectors. I've had a problem
similar of what you describe, but it was on the wire that went to the
CDI, my bike did not run and it turned out that the connector inside
the plug came loose, even though externally it looked like it was
firmly connected. Replaced connector - that costs cents - and bike is
running great again.

If that does not work, check voltage and resistence of the wires
coming from magneto to regulator. Not likely to be this, I've yet to
see a true magneto failure on a four stroke bike. Is WR's regulator
the newer style where there are 5 wires, three yellow, one black and
one red or is it like older bikes that have separated regulator and
rectifier and more wire colors than a rainbow?

good luck!

the bike only have the voltage regulator with two wires ( blue and
Black), but from the magneto the number and color of the wires looks
like the rainbow.....

yesterday i've clean all the plugs, will check for broken wires...

thanks

The lighting source wire from the stator is usually yellow.
Check it's current (with the engine running), and then trace the wires
from there.  You will find your problem.

I think i've found the problem, yesterday when i was looking for
broken wires, i've removed the Magneto cover, and as soon a  took the
last screw, oil went all over the floor, it's no supposed to have oil
in that section of the engine, right....

could that be the problem, the oil had isolated the coil, the seal is
for sure damage and is letting the oil to pass from de engine.
