The XT225 has an Achilles Heel. The carburetor. Yamaha engineers decided
to have Mikuni make them a custom CV carb--model BST--that has a few
parts made of unobtanium, that is, unless you want to buy an entire new
carb from a Yamaha dealer. There must be over a hundred parts listed and
replaceable on this carb, from little o-rings to jets to washers to
gaskets, but 3 parts are simply not available as spares: the plastic
diaphragm cover at the top, the throttle cable bracket, and the
"coasting enricher" diaphragm cover.
After getting back from Moab I discovered the coasting enricher cover
was broken (wife was having trouble with it stalling while...coasting :)
allowing a vacuum leak preventing the coasting enricher diaphragm from
enriching.
Here's a parts diagram and photo I posted on advrider:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?tX9843
I'm hoping someone on rmd can provide me a lead on a used carb.
(Sudco or CarbParts.com can NOT supply the part. CarbParts.com was
aggressively rude in telling me to go away when I asked... The 2 salvage
yards I've contacted haven't turned up anything either.)
Thanks!

Thanks! I didn't see anything in the first couple of pages, I could
understand most of it well enough without resorting to translation :)
I was already looking at the yamaha motors brazil parts catalog.
Apparently it IS available in other countries, like Japan, Brazil, and
perhaps Australia. Australia was my first place to look (English
language) but they don't have an online parts catalog. Brazil does, and
I found the part listed: 2LN-14958-10.
Could you find out what it costs??? I'd be willing to make it worth your
time :)
