Waht is your opinion on a WR250 Yammmy

 I stopped by a dealer yesterday and he had an 2005 WR250 for sale. He
had the carb off of it because he said it sat too long. Maybe, because
the bike had very little wear. The side cases only had a scratch or 2,
and the frame near the riding boot was worn a little. Nothing major.

Now I ask, Are they good for tight trails or geared too high (like the
old KX250 2 smoker. What would be a fair price to offer? Kelly Bluew
book says wholesale is about $2800.

 What year and I assume it's the 4 stroker.  Have a buddy that raced a
couple of them (4 strokers) for a couple years on each. He pounded crap out
of them and they stayed together for him, and he liked riding them too.

Typical Yamaha sat too long story.  Probably true.



Henry has a 2003 he loves and has had no problems.  Sold his
WR450 after a year because the 250 was more fun.  Don't know
about the price but sounds like a deal at $2800.

WRFs are great bikes. If you weigh more than 180 without your gear on you
might find the 250 a bit underpowered. In stock trim they are pretty plugged
up, but a few free tweaks can restore some of the power that the factory put
in.
