It is placed on the intake manifold and it is supposed to "swirl" the
air making a better air fuel mixture. Many people are claiming
improved bottom end and that the device completely eliminates very low
rpm hesitation. It is quite cheap, slightly more than USD10. My bike
have this hesitation and I don't know what's next. I've tried
different needles, different jets, different mixture screw adjusts,
but the hesitation sometimes is there, most often is not. Could not
trace to over oiled air filter or dirty air filter. Happens mostly
when in low rpms and I am trying to climb a hill with throttle full
open.
has anyone heard of anything similar? For $10 plus shipping I might be
willing to try it, except if this is known as bogus snake oil type
device.
they have a video (portuguese language) showing how it works.

I don't know from bikes but I am a "retired" GM mechanic.. I would
also note that my area of expertize was elctrical and runability, not
so much "pig iron". Either way, I think that most car companies and I
would imagine bike companies too have put a lot of R+D into intake and
fuel delivery. Work on your heads and carb if you need more
performance. I would imagine you could go aftermarket too, but these
guys have been building these bikes for years. If this thing worked,
someone would have applied it stock by now...
Just my opinion

Not sure about stock, but for sure it would be something the top dogs
on FIM races would be using and they aren't. The pro-contraption
argument is cost. With this stock on every carb, the producing cost
would be high, but I don't fully buy it, the thing is not much more
than a carefully twisted shim...

Unless fitted to an engine that had some horrible deficiency in the
intake tract design that by some miracle this happened to correct
somehow, snake oil/flim-flam/bogus.
Look at it this way, it steals forward motion from the incoming air
and turns it into rotational energy.

and why would this be a "bad thing"? I am baffled with so many
positive comments on the thing. If it was expensive, I would say that
was placebo effect, nobody likes to spend $$ and admit it doesn't
work, but the contraption is cheap enough not to cause this effect...
I think...
