Well, I finally put the shoulder to the test on Sunday.  My speed is still
there, but my endurance is in the crapper. The bike ran good, but I gotta
go 1 step leaner on the main.

My plan is to ride at Metcalf on Thursdays after work.

Very cool... Cardio is all I can say. Pick up a cheap bike on the side
of the road and bring it home Start doing 45 minutes, three days a
week...

Good idea.  Just make sure that the bike has a motor on it, not one of
those gay-crunchy human-powered thingies.

Glad to hear the shoulder is going good, Mike.  My "failed big-air 360
attempt" shoulder sucks - pain management is becoming a serious
problem.  I visited my trusty orthopedic surgeon earlier today - MRI
tomorrow.  We're hoping it is just a squished rotator cuff muscle that
won't need cutting, but after 3 months of zero improvement, I'm not so
sure.  The Doc is encouraged by my range of motion, however, so maybe
I'll get lucky.  I don't want to do another shoulder surgery - the
pain level resulting from my last one was SO much above and beyond all
of my knee operations - I just don't want to do it again.  OTOH, it
isn't much better than that right now...

Well I'm not gonna win any races anytime soon and there are lots of motions
that cause pain, but it's temporary and getting better with use.  My riding
really relies on my balance more than my arms.  However, when things don't
go as planned, my arms and shoulders sometimes get hammered.  My riding
off-road will be limited until I feel comfortable that I can keep my chest
off the handlebars.

I'm sure the streets are safer already.   ;-)

Glad you are back. And congrats on having a brass clue about carb
screws.
