File this under "I Bet I Can Find More Things to Worry About Than You"
About a year ago I was given 2 gallons of pre-mix oil from a friend
who was getting out of riding. (8 1-qt. bottles of Yamalube 2R, the
good stuff)
This oil is probably between 4-6 years old. I compared the bottles to
my recent vintage 2R and noticed the new stuff comes with an aluminum
seal on the spout. The old bottles have no seal other than the
screw-on cap.
All the old bottles have that shrunken look, like some vital vapors
have escaped but nothing has gotten back in to equalize the pressure...
It was free, so I'm tempted to put the old bottles out for the
recycler rather than risk using stale pre-mix that is missing some
vital ingredient that will wind up pitching me on my head when I seize
the motor in the middle of the Dusy Ershim...
Whatcha y'all think?

OK. As you're the reigning oil expert I'll stop worrying and learn to
love the free stuff.
Let's see, this should last me, oh, 65 gallons or so. I'm RICH!

I currently have a houseguest who is trying to shake her
southernisms. I'm getting $1 for every "y'all" - $13 so far ;).
Anyway - go by the color. Compare with new stuff - if the color has
changed, use it for bonfire starter. If the color is the same hue
blue as new, run it dood. (I'm a poet and don't even knowit)
