I was alone for my ride yesterday, but that's OK, I was at Hollister
where your never really alone. I spent my day riding single track and
the trails to get to them. Traction was very good and took advantage
of it. I arrived to ride at a moderate pace and get some exercise on
my favorite workout tool. Conditions were really good for me, so I
ended up riding hard. I felt like the old Mike Baxter for about 20
miles of great TST yesterday. You know, I really have been missing
the challenges I set on myself during my rides. If I get behind
someone, I try to ride totally opposite lines. Not because they are
good, but because it's less boring and there is always something to
learn about. Sometimes it's the trail conditions or your bike and
sometimes, it's you.
My odometer shows 39.38 miles from yesterday and 30 0f those are TST.
I arrived and took off to ride at 11:30 and left to go home at 2:00.
My bike ran great and this being the 2nd ride on new Dunlop 756s, I
was a happy man. Honking the horn on my plated GasGas at slower
riders on perfect new race bikes is still fun especially when I don't
need to get on the pipe to make the pass.
Hope your wekend was good!

My weekend I drove 1495km round trip to visit relatives, but it ended
up it was great, I met this incredibly beautiful girl who loves Janis
Joplin as much as I do and.... :-)
Thanks for writing a rr! I was needing to ride even if by reading a
report... Will push my friends to ride next weekend. My bike is
covered in a thick layer of dust...
have a great week Mike!

Sounds like a great ride! I remember I used to time how long it took
me to get from my parents house to a Crane Pond. I loved that run,
and got damned fast at it. Haven't done anything like that in a very
long time, this post might inspire me to.
I'm the slow guy on the older race bike in the trails, btw. I get a
kick out of getting passed by guys on trail bikes that are sitting
down, riding smooth and just flowing through the trail, looking slow
but hauling ass. My bike is usually set up for FMX, and the
suspension is just waaaay too stiff for the trails.

Lonely? Did you bring your fern? :-)
Sounds good, Mike. We're pretty much wintered down. A sensible person would
take up some type of winter sport. I'm not very sensible. I spent the
weekend relacing a pretzeled wheel (done at Roswell over the holidays),
carpeting the garage, and installing extra work lights & shelves. The wheel
mounting stand is living in my dining room for a few weeks. Single life is
good.
