If you give a mouse a cookie: story....
well i did get the bike out went to wash it
and my gear off before the ride only to
discover the hydrant was leaking... well
that should be an easy fix.... well so i hop in
the van & went to tractor supply to go get a
new one.. all they had was made in china ones.
i got our my shovel and started digging towards
china... 80+ degs hot and one coke & a beer later
i was at the bottom of the pipe and ready to unscrew the
faucet.. it cam off easy (brass to brass fittings)
i taped the fitting and put the new one on.. and
then climbed out of my china syndrome hole
and decided to turn the water back on to the line
to check for leaks before covering the hole back up...
well the water came rushing out of the faucet
so fast running clear & cool the only issue was
the faucet was in the off position??? so i lifted it
to the open position?? then back off... meanwhile the
hole i just dug was filling up with water so i ran back to the
basement to turn off the water... sigh yep the
brand new faucet was crap.... store was closed and
i was now late for dinner covered in sweat & mud.
opened another beer and started to wash up....
john
just one of those days...

when you forget to put your cell phone

A hammer works pretty well, but stuffing god-knows-what down the bowl is
more disgusting and less permanent.
A friend swore off rental property when he had to clean up the place
after one of the tenants hacked somebody to death -- at the time there
were no crime-scene cleaners and 'normal' cleaners refused the job.

Mine is off most of the time and nobody ever calls me because they know
my phone is off all the time. I just use it for "I'm here, where are
you?" calls.
I conclude that cell phones, as normally used, are not designed for MY
convenience.

not a hammer, flaw in the ceramic glaze.... small crack
in the tank got bigger until it became an issue...
also think leaning back on the seat while sitting
aggravated the leak.

hydrogen peroxide works well on blood stains, not sure
if you can buy peroxide by the bucket load?? renter vs.
owners does create i difference in responsibility... some
are grateful for the blessing they receive, other not so much..
i've only had one disgusting renter, i research past behaviors
a bit closer now....

used to be that way, it annoys the wife when she call my phone and
the kitchen counter next to her rings <grin>

my new-er phone has a camera & a mini USB port, i like that
and this spring i have used it to call up to the house to have
kid get the john deere to come pull me out of the mud....

Critics, when you screw up and no one gives
you advice, then they have given up on you....
