My 2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback doesn't seem it will live through
this next weekend.
She started showing skin ulcerations and I took her to the vet. She
was diagnosed with "allergy". I gave her all the medicines that is
available in the vet pharmacy and nothing made her better. Her legs
are swelled beyond belief, she has little fur anymore and paws are
black and bleeding. Last attempt was diclofenac, but she developed a
huge intestinal bleeding. Man, that's really tough. If I had a gun I'd
put her out of misery tonight, but I don't. Damn. Just thinking about
it give me the chills.

Sorry to hear that Tiago. It sucks watching your pet suffer. New
Year's Eve Theresa and I spent the night on the kitchen floor with
Sandy while she had a series of massive seizures, and we were
absolutely certain she wouldn't see the light of day again, and yes,
if I'd had a gun at the time I'd have taken her out back to put an end
to it. It was horrible.
Amazingly enough, the next day she woke up and was tired, but mostly
OK. No further problems since then, fortunately, but the experience
definetely aged her.
BTW, I have guns now, but after that turn round at New Year's, I'm not
sure if I could do it (actually, I'm not sure I could have done it
before when there seemed like a very good reason for it).
You have my total sympathy. I only wish that was enough to help make
what you will be going through any easier. Sounds like all you can do
is comfort your dog and let her know that she's loved and not alone.

I remember my Dad put our seriously injured Marilyn MonroeBoat down by
putting her in a cardboard box with a blanket over it and firing up the
50' Nash and piping the exhaust into it. If you did that today, the dog
would come out all soggy.
A friend just lost her Golden Retriever to liver cancer. I'm sorry to
hear the magnificent Sandy had some ailments, she is the tennis ball
wonderdog. Maybe passing a tennis ball? Probably not funny here.
I'm sure Tiago's dog is in the best place for comfort and peace.

I'm so sorry, Tiago. They're family, and sometimes better than human
family.
