Some folks say that laying the bike down to avoid an accident is
worse, that if the rubber side keeps down it could be easier to avoid
or if unavoidable, the impact would be less.

from my local tv news, the accident was in the other corner of the
country.

for those who doesn't understand portuguese, the rider was a 16 y.o.
boy, running from police. Outcome was two days in the hospital, then,
jail...

if he didn't laid the bike down, would he have survived?

What, he didn't get up and run after he stopped sliding?

So there's going under a big truck, and maybe laying it down to go
under a cable- any other times you really need to?
