I asked my daughter last evening what she wanted to do. She wanted to finish
the chapter of her book then go outside to dirtbike or baseball or
something, I told her i was going to go water stuff and come out when she's
ready... A short while later she was out and checking the gardens, it was
then she got huffy, oohhh i'm going to get those deer... the deer had come
in for more of her sweet corn she planted in the lower garden, and trampled
the other row leaving only one ear on one stalk left.... she turned to me
and said. "Dad i want to sight in my crossbow" and went to the garage to get
the target & bow. after about 20 minutes of fine tuning she is shooting lime
sized grouping at 30-40 yards, she was frustrated that i still have to cock
the bow (175lbs) but she was really close to getting it cocked herself. i
rigged up a pulley rope thing that threads thru the stock and to the strings
then to lawnmower pull start style handles, she could pull it back with a
1/2 in of locking it in place..i'm guessing a little fine tuning on my part
and we'll have her all set.... she's counting the days till bow season.

I am reading a book called "Spoiled" about food-borne diseases.
No more chicken or ground meat (any kind) for me. Meat from the US
meat industry is losing its appeal. Filling the freezer with wild game
sounds better and better to me.
I can clean a fish, but I have no interest in gutting a mammal.

Bully for your daughter!
I love prepping my own meat when I have it. Started hunting in
Wyoming (antelope, elk, bison, & deer), but haven't gotten set up to
do anything yet in CO. Might have an in with my chiropractor who's
bow hunting for elk right now. I told him about my killer low fat/low
salt sausage recipes (Italian, breakfast, bratwurst, and bockwurst)
and casing ability and he has a commercial grinder. Might get some
game meat in the freezer yet!

Do you have a sister?
I've decided I need one of these attachments so I can grind my own.
