How many motocross races do you know that set aside a whole class for
woods bikes?
My buddy Dave Olcott does this every time with his Stimilon Motocross
Challenge. And every time, I say it's genius. But the turnout is lame
every time. There were ten bikes in Headlight Class last year;
everything from sweet new Husqvarnas to crusty old XRLs. It doesn't
matter because it's all about the fun. However, a fast guy who makes
the main gets a crack at some purse money.
And ask yourself, what woods rider wouldn't spend a while ripping
around a sand pit if they found one in the woods? Southwick is one
fine sand pit, I'll tell you. This is not a big air supercross track.
This is old school outdoors heaven.

Memorial Day weekend - Race Saturday, BIG part Saturday night, Open
riding optional Sunday, leave track Sunday PM, Monday Memorial day
free for the family BBQ. Southwick, MA -MX338
What I wish for is that Dave will sell out Headlight Class this year.
They double gate us with the women, usually. It would be good if he
sold out the women's class too.
So, if you know a good woods rider/ enduro/ hare scramble/nutjob
message board or forum, please post this over there. It's a lot of
fun. And it's worth a trip from anywhere.
Thanks,
Dean
