why am i more comfortable taking turns to left with left leg hanging in air
vs. right leg in air right turns, it's not like i'm going to stab the back
brake once i enter the apex of the turn... sigh

If your dominant side is your right side, I would say because your right

is a bit of the "brake" thing that quietly gets in around the brain too.
There is a comfort factor in knowing that brake is right there...

If you're right, yes, if you're left, it's backwards (right turns
easier)

When counter steering, if you going right, is your right arm who does
(most of) the job of controlling the handlebar to avoid a full lock
and a close encounter with the ground.

Also, there is the thing about hanging the left leg and having the
right leg on the peg, you have to modulate the force applied on the
peg, easier on the right leg.

Lots of my friends (and myself included) have the left knee with bolts
and nuts embedded because of crashes while going to the left.

had not considered the arm dominance thing...
i'm sort of ambidextrious
write right handed
shoot pool left handed
shoot guns right or left.

i think my arms are confused over who's boss

you might be right on the parinoid factor
of having the foot covering the brake
just in case i want to stab the brake and
slide into an uncontrolable skid/crash thing.

Ya never know when you might have to lay 'er down, the #1 solution to
avoiding a "worse accident"...
1,000,000 Harley riders can't be wrong.

Unless you're flat tracking, aren't your feet supposed to be on the
pegs anyway?
