No, it's the first time since Gardner won in 1987.
Well, at least according to Denis Noyes on he Europsort commentary
yesterday.

Whatever. If the OP was specifically talking about MotoGP only, then
I can't get excited about a historical statistic for a series that is
only 7 years old.
