He'll disagree if it's commonly accepted knowledge.
It's best just to ignore him as he won't go away.

All the time. I just don't see the point in defending such behavior. This
isn't an act of defiance, separatism or individualism. This was recklessness
on a grand scale. I lost a sister to a drunk driver, so don't expect me to
condone, accept or understand such reckless behavior on any level. It's one
thing to give a finger to the establishment, quite another to yell fuck you
while screeching through town with a flamethrower. And that doesn't even
begin to take into consideration that these two morons were at a company
function on the company's dime and on the clock at the time. Yamaha should
have fired them both immediately. Be a rugged individual on your own time.

I agree, at least to some extent, but what happens these day's is a
little different than it use to be, that is, Youtube and the Web never
seem to forget and I'd hate to see one screw-up ruin a budding career
before it actually gets going good, or, for that matter, haunt him when
it's over, after all (IIRC) he's still just a 19 YO kid. Heh, I dunno
'bout you, but it's prolly a damn good thing they weren't around when I
was that age..
Btw, have you started any rehab yet? I used those rubber stretchy
ribbon-like things tied to a bed post to exercise my good leg when I
was in the "chair," they worked out pretty good too, just be careful
and don't over-do it..
I was tellin' a friend about your deal the other day and something my
Mom told me at the hospital right after my "unfortunate experience"
came to mind, she said, "this too shall pass" and at the time I thought
she had gone total batshit crazy, but you know what? She was right...
X-post off..

Yeah, I've got some exercises to do. While the bones are still broken
(and it was only 4 weeks ago), there;s a limit to what I can do - I
still can't put any weight on my legs. But I'm seeing the leg doctors
tomorrow for a follow-up, so hopefully I'll have a much better idea as
to how my recovery is going then.

Oh, sure. Right now the dice is still spinning - at one end of the
scale I could be walking in 2~4 weeks, at the other I could still be
having surgery in a years time. I'm trying just to be sanguine about
it (which is usually my default setting anyway), and wait to see what
happens.

Any Dr. that has surgeon after his name I tend to shy/run away from
whenever possible, any surgery brings the risk of infection and right
now, if you're otherwise healthy, that's prolly your biggest concern,
especially so now that you're a "cyborg". Heh, wheelchairs suk ass,
huh? I'm still painting over those damn skid marks from turning around,
or trying to squeeze in rooms where the doors weren't wide enough...
