Being let go, or not renewed is bad enough in good times, but being
strung along in today's economy and then hearing you've been hosed on
the Web?

Cold...

Similar deal for Holden on the Honda side, it seems:

What's going on in both cases is an OEM pulling their factory SB team
from the series and making room on their top contract team for their
best rider, in Hodgson's case already under contract. But until those
deals were consummated they had to keep their options open, so were also
talking to the team's previous riders. The positions taken by Rapp and
Holden seem slightly disingenuous to me - we all have known that Hodgson
was mulling over the Corona ride and Hacking had previously been given a
Kawi contract and his factory teammate had been assigned to Attack. In
Holden's case he was already on the Daytona entry list, but it indicates
"Jake Holden Racing" as the team rather than Corona. Meanwhile only
yesterday we saw confirmation that Zemke will be with Erion in DSB, and
we also know that Hodgson was offered a ride there as well - had he gone
that route would we see Jake out of a ride today, or might he have ended
up at Corona? So these guys hardly got blindsided with nary a clue.

At the end of the day we probably won't get to see these two guys race
in '09, they may end up joining Matt Lynn in Brazil smokin' dope with
E-Boz (and we lose one of the best pieces of ass in the paddock as
well). Just more collateral damage from Roger's Folly...

His deal began "unrapping" when Kaw passed on ASB, and when Jamie
resigned (signed, or whatever) it was "C'ya for the Rappster. Prolly a
classic case of putting all the eggs in one basket, though you do have
to wonder where else he could've put them..

Yeah, like there's a whole bunch of rides around, but what's the deal
on Jake? He had to lawyer-up on somebody for shorting him last year,
WTF is up with that?

Hey, there's a lot to be said for Amazonian buds, though for some
reason I can't think of any right now, hmm. In any event,it is always a
downer to lose some tight ass...(most times anyway;)
