Just taken a look at the analysis at
http://resources.motogp.com/files/results/xx/2008/MotoGP/CAT/QP/analysis.pdf
It looks like Stoner has the best race pace, able to dip into the 42s
on race tyres, but behind him are about 6~8 people who look like they
can run low 43s on race rubber - could be a terrific race. Rossi must
be cursing the mistake that screwed his time on Qs and put him 9th on
the grid - he's going to have to do a lot of overtaking in the first
few laps tomorrow if he wants to stop Soner checking out.

In the warm up this morning, Rossi was fastest, but only did one 43.
In comparison, Edwards did a handful, as did Stoner. Again, it looks
like the top 6~8 are on the same pace. I think the first 10 laps
could be fantastic.

Wish you'd been right about that...
So where'd those lap times come from?

Well, apart from Pedrosa, I wasn't far off :-)
>So where'd those lap times come from?
Pedrosa's? Who knows. He said in an interview that the team changed
some things after warmup - it evidently found him a good 1/2 second a
lap, as he was able to run mid/low 42s from the start, while everyone
else was stuck in the low 43s they showed in practice.
