Hey guys
Been quiet for a while because I've been in hospital for 3 weeks. My
'preparatory' race meeting for the TT ended with me breaking my left
femur in 3 places, left tibia, jaw and 3 right metacarpels. All now
have metalwork in, and I'm on the slow road to recovery.
This was a close one - the paramedics had to give me CPR for 3 minutes
before I started breathing for myself again. To quote too many
hollywood movies, I'm too old for this shit.

Sorry to hear of the get-off & the injuries, but glad you're
on the way to recovery. Hope they gave you good pain meds....

Glad to hear you made it through, broken and banged up as that might be.
I also had a close call last fall, although it had nothing to do with 2
wheels.
Heal quickly and fully. Nice to have ya around still.

Damn man, that's gotta hurt. You home now?
Heal fast.
Go fast. Take chances.

Actually, I've been relatively lucky with the pain. I was out cold
for quite a while, and then on morphine before they operated. Once the
metalwork went in, it's not been bad.

This is probably the worst of it - I can't put any weight on my legs
for the next few weeks, which means I'm wheelchair bound, which means
I can't go to my 'home' which is a flat (apartment). So I'm at my
mum's, which is slightly difficult for a 45 year old man to bear :-)
But, she lives in a bungalow (do you have a word for this in the US),
and, frankly, I need looking after for a while :-/
