the text below appeared from a guy on a UK racing mailing list I'm on.
I can't commment on the content, but thought it worth bringing to this
audience as a indicator of how big bike racing is in Spain.

"Ever wondered why there are so many world class spanish riders??

I went to a race meeting at the weekend with a local spanish team,
they come from a small town in Andalusia  and almost every business in
town sponsors them with whatever they can

The team consisted of 6 riders all in matching leathers and matching
liveried bikes  the youngest kid aged 9 raced in the minimoto class,
then they had a 13 year old on a 125 a 15 year old (girl) on a 250,
then a 600, a gsxr1000 and a ZX 10 for the older riders.  All the
older riders freely gave advice to the kids and even the youngest was
able to go out in practice and come in and explain exactly what the
bike was doing and what he's like changed.

This team wasn't unique there were quite a few similar teams there."

 Julian Bond points out:

How do you recognize a surrender monkey?

They give you their banana before you draw your gun.

Go fast. Take chances.
