I was but a kid in the 80s and whilst I remember watching MotoGP, I don't
particularly remember which years were great, and which weren't so hot.
Duke Video in the UK have DVDs offering a review of each year from that
decade, but the playing time varies wildly from year to year.  Perhaps the
good years get 4hrs of footage, and the poor years just 1hr40.

Searching the net for reviews of those years (not the DVDs) draws zilch
for me.

Here's the break down of the running times:-

83 - 102 mins
84 - 208 mins
85 - 240 mins
86 - 210 mins
87 - 230 mins
88 - 220 mins
89 - 103 mins
90 - 103 mins
91 - 100 mins

Anyone remember stuff from back then?  Which years saw epic battles, which
ones were just runaways?

Hmm, just starting 90++ with VHS tapes. At least 92 was a good one with
Rainey battling against Schwantz. (With a bad end for Rainey going off
the track as he was leading in front of Schwantz and had his severe
injury)
