Heh. I basically agree, but without the touch of cynicism :-)

No way will he!

Me neither, but I hope he does.

Spies hasn't won anything yet except for a couple of AMA titles and
the only one there worth beating was Matt.
JT and CE BOTH have two WSBK titles against two of the best in the
business, Bayliss/Slight and Laconi/Corser. It wasn't easy for either
one. Expectations for Spies should be guarded at best.
It's common knowledge that the satellite Yam is slow. If Ben has
better set up skills than JT, he'll do better. If not, there's bound
to be disappointment.
My thought is that it's political. Both riders are friends (so far)
and will make for a more cohesive mediocre Tech 3 squad.
GP riders to WSBK: Podiums and wins (Biaggi, Checa, Barros, Laconi (7
in one year!))
WSBK riders to GP: Below top ten (Toseland, Hodgson, Xaus) or lower
top ten (Edwards)

I have to point out that Spies is doing rather well in WSBK this year, riding
a
bike that's new to him against riders he has not raced on tracks he has never
seen.
If you add in the two or three races that were thrown away due to team errors
(like
running out of gas), he'd probably be leading the points with a fairly
comfortable
margin. Spies seems to be headed over to MGP with two guys he's been working
with for
a fairly long time, which should be a plus in that they seem to have a good
level of
communication. I'm not saying that I think he'll do in MGP what he's done in
WSBK but
I have fewer reservations about his possible performance than you seem to.
It'll be fun to see how the new guys in MGP go next year.

But have these two guys worked on MotoGP bikes before?
