Here we have the really important times from the last few days tests.
That of the journalists on the Ducati demo bike.

Heh - that's quite a spread.
I assume that Kenny Noyes is Denis Noyes' son?

Yes. He races with some success in various Spanish championships,
Barcelona 24 Horas, etc.
Micheal Neeves is an MCN reporter who has raced at a couple of rounds
of the Suzuki GSX-R European Championship series that has supported
some of the WSBK rounds.
Dario Marchetti is an ex-racer involved with the Ducati Experience
race school thing.
Steve Atlas sounds like a character out of a Boys Own Adventure. "At
the last minute, Atlas manged to wrestle the Ducati round the tight
left hander, only avoiding collision with Sir Alan of Cathcart and by
the narrowest margin. There would be hell to pay in the bars of Cheste
later that night..."

now look at the times from the day before:
Casey Stoner 1:32.095
Marco Melandri 1:33.835s
So the _best_ writer was over 6 seconds off the pace - and that was
Mamola who gets to ride the two seat desmosedici at every round, Noyes
is seven and a half seconds down and Gardener "in third place" is ten
and a half seconds a lap down...
I have my doubts about just how much Cathcart can tell about a bikes
performance if he's 20+ seconds off race pace - he sure gets to ride and
review a lot of super cool race bikes though - I'd suggest it was 'cause
he's so slow he'd never crash them, but didn't he trowel a Kawasaki
MotoGP bike a few years back?
Goes to show just how much faster the top guys are than the rest of us
though - I've done a trackday when Wayne Gardener was there and he was
_spectacularly_ fast compared to even the _fast_ trackday punters...
