Trying to convince a friend you do not need a paddock pass for MotoGP at
Laguna unless you want to go into that small little restricted area behind
the garages and try to get an autograph (if you have ever been in that tight
little space you know there is nothing else to see or do).

As I recall the main paddock including around the AMA haulers was wide open
to even general admittance ticket holders except for that special little
area mentioned above. I asked the head ticket manager via email and she said
it is the entire paddock, even the AMA paddock, requires the paddock pass.
If that is the case I don't think it's ever been enforced.

Does anyone remember differently?

Thanks,
-Bob

Yes. You cannot get into the paddock at all if you don't have a pass.
At least that's the way it's been in the past, and I don't know
anything about that changing.

Yeah, but that's MGP at 'Guna. INDY? Who knows? Though given it's MGP
only I doubt pit access will be much different. Hopefully DMG will
embrace the NHRA way, every ticket, no matter where the seats are, is a
pit pass...

But the original poster was asking about Laguna.

Yeah, cos what these multi-million dollar teams really want is the
great unwashed wandering around the pits...

Lending another common meaning to "the pits", btw...
