Yep, isn't racing in ovals great? The future looks bright - to some...

And they might need to tweak the rules a little too. If I understand it
correctly with about 25, or so laps to go, the leader(Higbee) who was 3 laps
ahead of 2nd place was taken out in a racing incident clearly not his fault.
He ended up hitting the wall and got really busted up, compound femur
fracture and other really not good stuff, his bike hit the wall and bursts
into flames too. All this mess and resulting life flight causes the race to
be called, so, you'd think he'd be declared the winner of the red flag
shortened race, but with his bike, not to mention him, being in pieces it
wasn't in any shape to make the manditory post race dyno run and he was
DQ'd! Talk about adding insult to injury, wow...

He was hit by another rider/bike after the wreck which made things much
worse.

Yeah, that's the story I'm getting now, a little different from our resident
AMA apologist's "racing in ovals" swipe at Moto ST, as unfortunately, that
can happen anywhere. That said, it really suks that Shawn was robbed of a
run away victory because the bike wasn't in enough pieces to dyno...

I just read the link and it says

"He didn't hit the bike and didn't hit the wall, he fell onto the track,
apparently trying to avoid Higbee. Both he and his bike slid by
underneath Higbee and Higbee's bike, on the banking."

So to me it looks like the original riders injuries were solely from
crashing into the wall on a high speed bank oval track. Just what many
people said was dangerous.

To me, beyond the danger issue (which is big) is the yawn factor.
zoomoming in a loop endlessly is not interesting to me. 2 wheel nascar
is not a future I would enjoy.
